My poor baby has had her first visit to the emergency room. I hope she doesn't take after her Dad too much in this respect. It was a total accident and she's just fine, thank goodness. She was carrying a toy around and not looking where she was going, as usual. She tripped over the dog's feet and down she went, face first. She hit the bottom of her chin on the subwoofer box and gave herself a nice little cut about a centimeter long. She stopped crying after about five minutes. But, just to be on the safe side, Brandon took her to the ER to have her checked out. Two hours later, she was as good as new, they just Derma bonded her cut closed. She might have a small scar, but it's on the bottom of her chin, so it wouldn't show. Aaahhhh.... the joys and pains of toddlerhood.
This blog is to keep our family and friends, near and far, updated on the happenings in the Seattle - based Lockwood home.

She's not a little baby anymore...
I guess we have to officially call Abigael a toddler now. I just can't believe how well she is walking. She just continues to amaze me more and more everyday. Yesterday afternoon, the three of us went out to walk the dog. She walked an entire block all by herself! Of course, it took at least 20 minutes, but who's counting! I was so proud of her. She'd walk about 10 feet (huge grin on her face), stop to check something out (the grass, the pavement, a stick, rocks,...), then we'd call her to follow us and she'd start walking again till she found something else to look at. It was sooo cute! She's getting so much more sophisticated in her play too. Yesterday, she pulled all the throw pillows off the couch, put them in a pile, and then threw herself down on them. How funny. And she's pointing like crazy now. She's always pointed and pressed buttons with her thumbs, but in the last week or so she's been using her index fingers more and more. She's even starting to do it to communicate what she wants to show us or look at. Now if we'd only get some teeth.....

Abigael's 1st Birthday
We just celebrated Abigael's 1st Birthday. It was a huge success! Both of our families were in town and about 30 friends came over to help us celebrate. Abigael loved her cake. I made her a monkey cake. It was chocolate with chocolate icing. She was covered from head to toe!
I can't believe it's already been a whole year since she entered our lives. I can't imagine my world without her and can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.
I LOVE YOU ABIGAEL!!!!!
