Firefighter Training

So, this weekend Brandon went to North Bend, Washington for his first live fire training with King County 20. For those of you that don't know, Brandon is going through recruit training with the fire department in a nearby community called Skyway. In July, they will be finished with the class and in August will take the test to get their Fire Fighter I certification. Afterwards, Brandon will officially be a firefighter and a volunteer with King County 20. Pretty exciting stuff! Hopefully, this will be a good stepping stone to eventually get into Seattle Fire, which is his ultimate goal. In the meantime, he will get some valuable experience. He called last night to let me know how his first day of live fire training went. He didn't go into details on the phone, but it sounds like he loved it. Everyone says that the true test to see if you can be a firefighter is to be in an actual fire. Even though this was a controlled setting, I'm sure if it wasn't for him he would have known immediately.
At home, Abigael and I are having a nice mommy-daughter weekend together. She seems to doing better with her teething, she's even started smiling again, although she's still pretty clingy. Needless to say, I haven't gotten much done around the house, but that' s ok, I'm sure the dirty dishes won't go anywhere (darn).
